Seminary Mourns Passing of Professor
BMA Seminary mourns the loss of Dr. Harold McNeill who went home
to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 13. The faculty, staff, and students of
BMA Seminary extend their sincere
condolences to his family.
Dr. McNeill served the seminary as Professor of Theological-Historical Studies
and Christian Education from 1967 to 1972 and again from 1977 to 2005. He
continued to teach part-time until the present semester when ill health forced
him to retire suddenly. He also served for many years as the chief chaplain of
Rusk State Hospital and was licensed as a Certified Mental Health Chaplain.
Dr. McNeill received a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University, a Bachelor of
Divinity and a Master of Religious Education from BMA Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts
from Wheaton College, a Master of Theology from Northern Baptist Seminary, and a
Doctor of Ministry from Texas Christian University.
Funeral services for Dr. McNeill were held Friday, April 15 at 2 pm at Autry
Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Texas. The services were led by Professor James
Shine, Dr. Joe Pendleton, Seminary President Charley Holmes, and Bro. Michael
Prescott.
