Seminary Brings Class to Tyler

BMA Theological Seminary is pleased to announce that starting this fall, it will offer one of its classes in Tyler, TX.  The class will be held on the campus of Tyler Junior College at the Association of Baptist Students Center (1232 E. Lake, corner of Baxter and E. Lake, across from Rogers Student Center).  (The BMA Seminary’s main campus is located in Jacksonville, TX, and has an extension site in Conway, Arkansas.)

“BMA Seminary has been privileged to provide quality *accredited Christian higher education to the residents of East Texas for over half a century,” said Dr. Charley Holmes, Seminary President.  “We are pleased to make that education more easily accessible to residents of Tyler and the Smith County area.”

BMA Theological Seminary is committed to supporting churches, Christian ministries and organizations throughout Texas and around the world, by training men and women in the Word of God, equipping them for Christian service and leadership roles.  BMA Seminary offers a full range of degree programs as well as numerous opportunities for personal spiritual enrichment.  “It’s a given that many of the individuals who come for classes are ministers, but we also enable church members, Sunday School teachers, layman, housewives, etc., to come deepen their own spiritual lives as well,” said David Erickson, Assistant Development Coordinator.

The initial course being offered in Tyler is Introduction to Bible Study.  “This class will emphasize personal devotional Bible study and provide methods and tools students can use to enrich their spiritual walk,” said Dr. Philip Attebery, Seminary Dean.  He continued, “Such training is valuable for all Christians who desire a more comprehensive understanding of the Word of God.”

The class begins on September 1, 2005 and meets once weekly, on Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The semester ends on December 8.

For those interested in taking the class, either for credit (Associate/Bachelor degree) or non-credit (auditing), registration and Media Day is Thursday, August 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the ABS Center.
