Why I Chose BMA Seminary?
By Stephen Davenport
I earned my Bachelor of Arts (Religion) degree in 2016 from BMA Seminary. I could have gone somewhere else or stopped school altogether, but I had the desire to continue learning. Toward the end of my BAR studies, I knew that I wanted to continue my education at BMA Seminary. I soon began taking courses toward a Master of Arts in Church Ministries degree, which was conferred to me on May 19, 2018.
When I began BMA Seminary, I was asked why I chose such a small school. Many were surprised when I told them that the seminary was accredited and affordable. This is what led me to go to BMA Seminary. However, I did not stay at BMA Seminary for these reasons.
I continued my education at BMA Seminary; because BMA Seminary has a caring faculty that provides discipling relationships and a quality education. From my first class to my last, the faculty of BMA Seminary sought to ensure that I was succeeding academically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. There are many times when faculty members would take a group of students and mentor them. All the while remaining objective in their pursuit of educating the next generation of Gospel Ministers.
At the end of the seminary’s discipleship curriculum, DiscipleWay, the professor hands a baton to each student symbolizing that they now have the responsibility to disciple others. When a student walks across that stage, the diploma they are handed is that baton, and as they descend the steps they enter into their respective mission fields having been fully equipped and trained to finish the race well.
This is why I chose BMA Seminary.
